On February 3, the National Museum of China launched two premier Italian exhibitions, Pompeii: A Never-Ending Discovery and Geometry, Harmony and Life: The Architecture of Andrea Palladio from Antiquity to Classicism, marking a significant strengthening of cultural ties.
The opening ceremony was led by China's Minister of Culture and Tourism, Sun Yeli, and Italian Minister of Culture Alessandro Giuli. Together, the ministers unveiled the showcases, which stand as a milestone in the ongoing heritage collaboration between the two nations.
Luo Wenli, Director of the National Museum of China, noted that these displays act as a "bridge for dialogue," allowing Chinese audiences to engage directly with Italy's profound cultural depth while demonstrating China's respect for global diversity.
Minister Giuli described the two exhibitions as "chapters of a grand narrative," illustrating the global reach of Italian civilization. He emphasized that cultural diplomacy remains a vital link between nations, stating that "knowledge sharing is one of the firmest foundations for peace."
The exhibitions opened to the general public on February 4, 2026.
