To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, the National Museum of China will jointly host with relevant institutions in Beijing and Hong Kong, two special exhibitions: "International Friends and China's War of Resistance: the Commemorative Exhibition Marking the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War" and "United in Arms, Standing for Peace: the 80th Anniversary of Chinese Victory in the War of Resistance Exhibition".
These two exhibitions aim to fully leverage cultural heritage to tell the stories of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, promote the spirit of resistance, and inspire strength for the future. Both have been selected for the official list of recommended themed exhibitions on the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, jointly released by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Cyberspace Administration of China, and the National Cultural Heritage Administration.

The Chinese people will never forget the invaluable assistance and support extended by peace- and justice-loving nations and peoples, international organizations, and other anti-fascist forces around the world during China's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
The special exhibition "International Friends and China's War of Resistance: the Commemorative Exhibition Marking the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War" has been included in the National Museum of China's "National Exhibitions" program for 2025. Structured around four thematic sections, "Reporting: Voicing the Truth," "Military: Combat," "Rescue: Medical Aid," and "Support: Donations," the exhibition offers a comprehensive presentation of the shining moments of humanity that transcended race and borders, and of the spiritual monument forged by the solidarity of the world's forces of justice standing shoulder to shoulder with China.
Jointly organized by the National Cultural Heritage Administration, the National Archives Administration, and the National Museum of China, and with strong support from the Bank of China, China Image Group, the Second Historical Archives of China, the China Academy of Art, and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in China, the exhibition is scheduled to open at the National Museum of China in early September.

"United in Arms, Standing for Peace: 80th Anniversary of Chinese Victory in the War of Resistance Exhibition", supported by the National Cultural Heritage Administration and jointly presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the National Museum of China, the exhibition is co-curated by the Hong Kong Museum of History and the National Museum of China, with the support of the Bank of China, the strategic partner of the National Museum of China. It is scheduled to be on view at the Hong Kong Museum of History from August 27 to December 15.
The exhibition will feature a total of 183 objects. Among them, 82 items, including 8 Grade-I cultural relics, are on loan from the National Museum of China. The remaining 101 items are drawn from the collection of the Hong Kong Museum of History, local collectors, and cultural institutions, with around 60 pieces making their debut in Hong Kong. The 82 artifacts from the National Museum of China have already arrived in Hong Kong, and the curatorial team will soon commence installation.
By staging this exhibition in Hong Kong, the organizers aim to engage local residents and visitors alike, encouraging them to remember history, cherish peace, and carry forward the great spirit of resistance, contributing to the realization of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
