Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, October 22 --- To celebrate the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening-up and to create a social climate for in-depth study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the guidelines of the 19th CPC National Congress, the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Central Reform Office, the Party Literature Research Center of CPC Central Committee, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Commerce, Xinhua News Agency, the Political Work Department of the Central Military Commission, and the municipal government of Beijing, with the approval of the CPC Central Committee will jointly organize a large-scale exhibition in Beijing. The preparatory work is underway.
Under the theme of upholding and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics, the exhibition will focus on major events and give a panoramic view of the glorious journey, extraordinary achievements and valuable experiences over the past 40 years of reform and opening-up from multiple perspectives. It will highlight the strategic decision-making and deployments of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core has made in deepening reform on and expanding opening-up on all fronts since the 18th CPC National Congress. It will demonstrate that reform and opening-up is the new great revolution in which the Party has led the people of all ethnic groups into the new era, show the political courage and firm determination of the CPC Central Committee to push forward reform and opening-up, and reflect that the overarching goal of comprehensively deepening reform is to improve and develop the socialist system with Chinese characteristics, to modernize the governance system and governance capacity, and to strengthen our confidence in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
The exhibition will revolve around system reforms and people’s sense of fulfillment and happiness, highlight the achievements in development and the contrast before and after the reform and opening-up, and strive for the best artistic expression by incorporating historical, cultural and emotional elements.
The exhibition will consist of six thematic exhibition areas, and use an array of methods and elements such as pictures, texts, videos, real scenes, sand tables and interactive to demonstrate the great changes in people’s production and life in the past 40 years of reform and opening-up, especially since the 18th CPC National Congress, and the remarkable journey of China from independence to national prosperity.
The exhibition is going to officially make its debut at NMC soon.
