The Chinese people’s long attachment to the natural sceneries and local customs of their homeland is an excellent cultural tradition that runs through the long history of Chinese civilization. Taiwan has been an integral part of Chinese territory since ancient times. It has close ties with Fujian in terms of geography, blood, and cultural roots. The economic and cultural exchanges between the two can be traced back to the Stone Age. The cultures of Fujian and Taiwan are the common spiritual imprint of their own people. The artworks of Fujian and Taiwan are the link of their artists to express personal feelings. In four sections, this exhibition showcases more than 400 artworks from Fujian and Taiwan. From various aspects such as traditional opera, folk art, arts and crafts, literature, calligraphy, and fine arts, it interprets the conviction that people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits, particularly from Fujian and Taiwan, are of the same family.
