In order to train and reserve outstanding individuals versed in museum theories and practices and produce a batch of quality research that facilitates the development of the museum, the NMC Postdoctoral Research Station, approved by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MHRSS) national postdoctoral management committee, was established in August 2013 (MHRSS [2013]61). It is among the earliest research stations set up within Chinese heritage institutions. The NMC Postdoctoral Research Station started to recruit postdoctoral fellows in 2019.
The leadership group of the NMC Postdoctoral Research Station is headed by Director Wang Chunfa, with members including the museum leaders and heads of related departments. The postdoctoral management office is responsible for the building and administration of the research stations, affiliated under the research management service branch.
