Recently, the director of the National Museum of China, Wang Chunfa, met with the ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in China, Felix Plasencia, and the two sides shared a friendly conversation about cultural exchange and cooperation.

Director Wang welcomed the ambassador and introduced thework of the National Museum of China. He said the NMC is committed to promoting civilizational exchange and appreciation between China and other countries, and is an ideal partner for Venezuela to cooperate with China in organizing exhibitions. He warmly welcomed Venezuela to showcase its unique historical, cultural and artistic treasures at the National Museum of China.

AmbassadorPlasencia expressed his gratitude to the NMC for its warm hospitality. He hoped to deepen cultural exchanges between the two countries under the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership, to introduce outstanding modern Venezuelan artworks to Chinese audiences, and to set the stage for the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Venezuela and China in 2024.

China and Venezuela have long histories and rich cultural heritages. Both sides agreed that a mechanism for exchange and cooperation between the national museums of China and Venezuela should be established, the implementation of cooperation projects should be facilitated, and people-to-people ties should be promotedthrough high-level cultural exchange and cooperation at the earliest possible date.

After the meeting, AmbassadorPlasencia and his delegation visited the exhibition "Ancient China." Minister counsellors of the Venezuelan Embassy Ramos, Bastardo and Mendes accompanied AmbassadorPlasencia during his visit.
