On the morning of February 10, the National Museum of China (NMC) held a special work meeting using the video conferencing system on the Xuexi Qiangguo app. Within five minutes after the meeting notice was issued, members of the NMC Work Committee entered the virtual meeting room through mobile phone from their respective office, home or other places to discuss NMC's near-term work. While avoiding physical contact, this virtual mode also reduces communication cost, improves work efficiency, and thus ensures work progress during the COVID-19 epidemic.

Following its decision-making procedure, this meeting arranged NMC's near-term work. In particular, it was pointed out that the grim COVID-19 situation continued. All NMC staff should care much about themselves, families and departments to ensure none confirmed case at the NMC for reopening as soon as possible after the epidemic is over.

Since the COVID-19 outbreak, the NMC has been following the instructions given by CPC General Secretary Xi Jinping and put people's life safety and health at first. Since the Spring Festival holiday, the NMC has taken flexible work arrangements. Apart from the on-duty and maintenance personnel, other staff are required to work from home to minimize gatherings and coronavirus spread risks. Currently, the COVID-19 prevention and control are in a critical period. The NMC will continue to follow the overall plan of the central government's response to the epidemic and do a good job in epidemic prevention and control. Using IT means, such as online office work system and video conferencing, we steadily push forward all NMC work during closure to make due contributions to winning the battle against COVID-19.
