Over the past seven decades since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, Chinese artists have actively responded to the Party’s call, devoted themselves to socialist revolution and development and great endeavor for reform and opening-up, and createda number of fine art works that occupy an important position in the history of Chinese fine art. The National Museum of China has organized artists to make artistic creations for historic events, among which a fairly large number of artistic creations can be rated as classics.

The National Museum of China carefully selects some excellentoil paintings, traditional Chinese paintings andsculpturesfor this exhibition, for the purpose of giving visitors apanoramic view of thetortuous, suffering butglorious journey of the Chinese revolution froma single spark toward thebirth of the New China, and guidingthem torememberthe eventful years of painful struggles of revolutionary martyrs, bear in mind the origin of therevolutionary government and how the New China was founded.It is an important gift made by the National Museum of China for celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the New China.
