Deng Jiaxian (1924-1986) was born in Huaining, Anhui Province, a nuclear physicist and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He stepped onto the ship back to China after getting his doctoral degree in physics in the United States in 1950. He once served as the director of the design department and theory department of the Ninth Academy of the Second Ministry of Machine Building. He led the nine times of analog computation and analysis on this hand-cranked calculator in the physical process of an atomic explosion and accomplished the theoretical design scheme of the atomic bomb, taking the first step in China’s independent R&D of nuclear weapons. In 1999, it was handed over by the Institute of Applied Physics and Computational Mathematics (formerly named the Ninth Academy of the Second Ministry of Machine Building).
