Ding Pengbo, female, Han ethnicity, was born in November 1976 and is from Xianyang, Shaanxi Province. She began her career in July 2001 and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in June 2009. She holds a doctor’s degree in history and is qualified as a Research Fellow. She is currently Deputy Director of the NMC.

From July 2001 to July 2004, she worked as teacher at the Department of Art History and Theories of Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts. From August 2004 to July 2007, she pursued her doctoral degree at the School of History of Beijing Normal University. From July 2007 to December 2018, she worked at the former Academic Research Centre and Department of Research Management of the NMC. She was qualified as Research Fellow in cultural heritage and museology in September 2018. In December 2018, she served as the de facto director of the Department of Research Management of the NMC, and in April 2019 was appointed the Department Director. Since April 2020, she has been working as Deputy Director of the NMC.
