Shandong Jiaojia Archaeological Site in Jinan is one of China’s top 10 new archaeological discoveries in 2017. At the site, the ancient city, settlements and tombs at the mid-late stage of the Dawenkou culture of the Neolithic Age were discovered, the remains of rammed earth walls, moats, building remains and high-ranking tombs for nobles with lots of potteries and jade articles, indicating that Jiaojia site is a large city with political, economic, and cultural significance in the North Shandong area during the middle and late stages of the Dawenkou culture.

The exhibition will showcase over 230 potteries, bone artifacts and jade articles that were recently excavated at the site, as well as lots of photos and videos of archaeological excavation, systematically display the Dawenkou culture as well as ancient cultural information on regional communications and social nature, etc., and reveal the tendency of civilization of the ancient society in eastern China and the 5,000-year-old history of the Chinese civilization.
