The National Museum of China (NMC) have joined hands with Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Museum to organize “Our Common Treasures: Exhibition of Selected Cultural Relics from Xinjiang”, another achievement among the series of exhibitions on ancient history and artifacts co-organized by the NMC and local museums and relevant cultural institutions. The exhibition features 191 pieces/sets of exquisite cultural heritage unearthed in Xinjiang between the Pre-Qin period and Song & Yuan dynasties, supplemented by the restored murals of grottos, videos and projections among other multi-media means of exhibition. It provides a panoramic view of the resplendent history and culture of ancient Xinjiang and the harmonious living scenes of various ethnic groups on the land over the past thousands of years, which helps the audience to get a comprehensive knowledge about the historical and cultural landscape in Xinjiang, a better understanding about Xinjiang’s role in the integration and evolution of Chinese diversified cultures, and a more accurate take on the Chinese community made up of the ethnic groups of Xinjiang and in other parts of the country.
